Administrative detention is an Israeli policy that allows the indefinite detention of prisoners without trial or charge based on “secret evidence” that neither the detainee nor his lawyer is allowed to see. At least four Palestinian children are detained under such orders.

A Palestinian man has been shot dead by Israeli forces during a confrontation that followed an army raid on Balata refugee camp near the northern city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the man as 21-year-old Bakeer Mohammad Hashash and said he was shot dead at dawn on Thursday with a bullet to his head.
