The Democratic Party of Albania and the opposition have called Albanians to a national protest on Saturday, February 11, 2023 – against the Rama-McGonigal affair and demanded the prime minister’s resignation.

Thousands flocked to the capital, Tirana square, to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who was reportedly involved in the latest McGonigal scandal.

Allegations suggest that Albanian PM Edi Rama might have bribed a former FBI agent, Charles McGonigal, with $225 thousand to hit the Democratic Party, which consequently resulted in the former President, Prime Minister, former head of the Albanian parliament and leader of the democratic party Sali Berisha and his family members to be designated as ineligible to travel to the United States of America.
